Given that all of our technology is of a mobile basis, we perform our diagnostic imaging tests in the convenience and comfort of the Ordering Physician’s office. This allows the patient to avoid the hassle of scheduling a trip to an outside testing center, while simultaneously allowing the Physician to better control overall clinical care and patient retention.

An echocardiogram is an ultrasound test that can evaluate the structures of the heart, as well as the direction of blood flow within it. Technicians specially trained in echocardiography produce the images and videos, often using a special probe or transducer that is placed in various places on the chest wall, to view the heart from different directions. Cardiologists, or heart specialists, are trained to evaluate these images to assess heart function and provide a report of the results.The echocardiogram is just one of the many tests that can be done to evaluate heart anatomy and function.

 

A transthoracic echocardiogram is a standard, noninvasive echocardiogram. A technician (sonographer) spreads gel on your chest and then presses a device known as a transducer firmly against your skin, aiming an ultrasound beam through your chest to your heart. The transducer records the sound wave echoes from your heart. A computer converts the echoes into moving images on a monitor.

 

If your lungs or ribs block the view, you may need a small amount of liquid (contrast agent) injected through an intravenous line (IV) that will make your heart’s structures show up more clearly on a monitor, improving the images.

 

An electrocardiogram (EKG, ECG) is the most common heart tracing done. Electrodes are placed on the chest wall and collect information about the electrical activity of the heart. Aside from the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat, the EKG can provide indirect evidence of blood flow within arteries to heart muscle and the thickness of heart muscle.

Our Affiliated Physician order on-site diagnostic imaging testing as needed to identify many common internal and cardiac conditions

A trained and certified National Teleradiology Associates Technician administers the tests in the convenience and comfort of your office

 

Our Affiliate Physicians can then schedule follow-up consultations with their patients to discuss the test results and schedule any follow-up testing
