As Service Engineering Director, you will need a strategic outlook, analytical mindset, and business acumen to understand our customers’ needs and develop proactive/prescriptive capabilities that deliver greater asset uptime and operational efficiency. This role requires a technical understanding of medical imaging systems (emphasis on CT/MRI), collaboration with customers, direct leadership of Service Engineering team and partnering with engineering to test ideas and build functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Service Engineering team in the creation, validation and maintenance of alerts and error events from connected systems and sensors
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on medical imaging device technology – reliability, key components, problem types/failure modes etc. to guide discovery and rules development
  • Validate alert efficacy and penetration across Manufacturer, Modality and Model installed base
  • Collaborate with Customers, Engineering teams (particularly ML group) to deliver improved failure prediction models and service efficiency
  • Continually assess market needs, competitive functionality and product outcomes
  • Lead and inspire – Define priorities and make tradeoffs based on customer requirements, QA/testing and competitive positioning
  • Reporting on departmental actions, product quality, and future developments with leadership and Board members
  • Influence senior leadership to develop strategic partnerships, affect policy/regulations and investments in key technologies

About You

  • 10+ years’ experience in Field Service, Service Engineering of Medical Imaging systems
  • Quality and process management mindset to maintain and support a QMS system
  • Deep understanding and perspective on delivering solutions which can reduce unplanned downtime, FTFR and MTTR for medical systems; ideal domain knowledge of CT/MRI failure modes.
  • Strong communicator and influencer to drive change both inside Glassbeam and with customers
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills to drive rules creation process and direct reports
  • Excellent project management skills to guide alignment and execution across groups
  • Equally comfortable working with customers, sales, and engineering to listen and lead projects or conversations
  • Acumen for turning complex problems into actionable plans
